After Installing the FuturePRINT capture driver, it does not capture the artwork?
The most common problem is forgetting to set the Spool method from 'RAW' to 'EMF' in the printer settings. Consult the PDF file for the FuturePRINT capture driver for more information.

Something went wrong, and now the same files keep appearing in the capture driver window?
If you are using Windows 98 or ME, you will need to go to the C:\Windows\Temp folder, and delete any files that match the following description: ~emfxxxx.tmp (note: xxxxx represents hexadecimal numbers and letters, ie B42FFC4).

If you are using Windows 2000 or XP, right click on the FuturePRINT tray icon (near the clock on the system tray), and select the Options -> View SPL Folder menu item. When the folder appears, delete the unwanted SPL files.

The artwork is taking a very long time to capture, and the file is very large?
Some programs such as Acrobat Reader provide the option to print as an Image. If this option is selected, you could find the file size becomes excessive. Either turn this option off, or change the Resolution in the capture driver to a lower dpi.

How can I select the right page size?
In Windows XP, custom page sizes are treated differently. For more information about setting custom page sizes, refer to the FuturePRINT Capture Driver help. Usually, however, you do not need to set a custom size.

For example, imagine that you have artwork and want to print it out at 4' x 5'. From the host program, when you use the capture driver, leave it on the standard page size, say Letter (8.5" x 11") or A4 (210 x 297mm). Just pretend that you are printing out a sample of the artwork on a normal desktop printer.

The key is to make sure that the artwork stretches to use the full printing area. In some programs this option is presented as 'Shrink oversized pages to paper size', others it is called 'Stretch to fit'.

Once you have captured the artwork, and it is in FutureRIP SE, you can resize it to the correct size. Using the proportional settings, resize either the width or height dimension, depending on which one touches the sides of the paper first.

I deleted the FuturePRINT Capture Driver and now I can't get it to work again?
If you were using the Capture Driver and deleted either the FuturePRINT icon in the Printer's window or 'FUTMON.EXE' from the ABC window. You will need to fully reinstall both programs, following all instructions from the written manual or from the program's Help Topics.

Note: If you are still having problems please write to futureprinthelp@future-1.com advising which version of Windows you have and whether or not you were or were not able to capture artwork for use in FutureRIP SE from a third party program, such as CorelDRAW or Adobe Acrobat etc. before deleting it.
