How do I
Auto-Trace only the outside of a contour?
Before you use the Auto-Trace feature, edit the image in
FuturePAINT, and flood fill the desired background with a unique color, such as a bright green. Then when you Auto-Trace, other areas, such as the whites of a characters eyes, etc will not be included in the traced contour.
How can I learn more about the curve editing program that is used to create contours?
From the VinylMaster Pro CD, VinylMaster Academy has a whole series of lessons
(Semester 2) that discuss the image tracing
module, also see the VinylMaster Pro
manual 'Image Tracing and Scanning
Modules'.
How can I use a Vinyl Cutter to cut out artwork printed with
FutureRIP SE?
You can easily separate the printing and cutting process with
FutureRIP SE. When you print the artwork, make sure to include a border around the job. When you create the contour, make sure to also select
'Box Around Tile'.
When you go to RIP the job, ensure that
'Cut Contours' is not checked. To cut out the contours with a vinyl cutter, select the
'Create Contours' button in the Contour Cutting Tab. From the
Vinyl Spooler window, you can line up the contours with the printed sample, by ensuring that you have set
'Manual Reposition' from the top menu before clicking on
'Cut Now'.
What is the best way to create contours for low quality JPG images?
Some images, such as Jpg's, and other internet sources, are not suitable for
Auto-Tracing. The quickest way to obtain a contour is to use the
Curve Editing window, and create one by hand. You can learn more about this program from the VinylMaster Academy on the VinylMaster Pro
CD or from the VMP manual.
